London Golf Club Members have once again been enjoying the slightly warmer climbs of their sister course in Mallorca.  For the fourth consecutive year, the Real Golf de Bendinat has played host to the annual LGC Pro-am event, organised by resident professional Paul Stuart.

Twenty-eight players made the trip to the Balearic Island to take part in the two day event.  For the first time this year a Real Golf team also entered the competition, captained by head professional Ricardo Galiano.  All involved agreed that the course was in better condition and playing tougher than previous years.   An unusual cold snap and the occasional shower made it all the more testing.

The first round on Thursday produced some low scores with professional David Harris and his team of Bob Taylor, Steve Connon and Peter Connon taking the lead on 92 points.  In the individual professional competition, Paul Sherman shot level par, putting him top of the field, one shot clear of by Paul Stuart (+1) and two shots clear of Ricardo Galiano and David Harris who both shot 72.

Breezy conditions and tricky pin placements meant play was more challenging on the second day.  Harris and his team continued where they left off though and romped home with a combined score of 172 points.

Ricardo Galiano put his course knowledge to good use, shooting 66 - the best round of the competition.  However it was not enough to shift Paul Sherman off the top spot.  Scores of 69 and 68 secured victory for him in the professional event and second in the team competition.

Spirits were high both off and on the course.  During the trip, players were invited to a wine-tasting put on by the Bendinat Group.  Andrew Spence and Sarah Mullis hosted the evening, which saw the English contingent enjoy some fine local wines and tapas.  The event was well received by all and proved an ideal opportunity for London Golf Club members and their guests to learn more about Bendinat property in the island.
